Lionel Messi would be welcome at French football club Paris Saint-Germain should he ever decide to leave Barcelona.
However, he does not expect the Argentine superstar to do so, says PSG coach Thomas Tuchel.

Messi joined Barcelona as a 13-year-old and scored a record 634 goals in 730 games.

He has won the most trophies – a total of 33 – but the 33-year-old is now in the last year of his contract at the Spanish club.

A disappointing season ended when Barcelona were humiliated 2-8 by Bayern Munich in a quarter-final of the Champions League earlier this month.

The Spanish media then began to speculate about Messi’s future.

“He is very welcome. Which coach says no to Messi? ” Tuchel told BT Sport on Sunday night after his team lost 0-1 to Bayern in the Champions League final.

“I think Messi will end his career in Barcelona. He is Mr Barcelona. ”

Tuchel said the club needed more depth to meet the requirements of the new season.

“We have already lost players for this campaign and now we also greet Thiago Silva and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting,” said Tuchel.

“We have to use the transfer time to expand the group. The campaign is going to be demanding without any interruptions.

“We have to build a strong group. We will have to plan. ”

The French league season was suspended in March due to Covid-19 and the new season started this past weekend.
