The transfer of Georginio Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain is in pitchers, reports The Telegraph Monday afternoon. The midfielder has definitively chosen PSG over Barcelona, as transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed last weekend. Within 48 hours, Wijnaldum will be medically examined by PSG, where he has signed a contract until mid-2024 at a salary of reportedly nine million euros a year.
For a long time, Barcelona seemed to have the best papers to add Wijnaldum to the selection of coach Ronald Koeman. A personal agreement had already been reached on a three-year contract at the Camp Nou and the medical examination had already been planned. However, PSG got involved in the fight for the the Dutch international’s signature and has now definitively won the battle with Barcelona.
According to the newspaper, technical director Leonardo had been in contact with Humprey Nijman, Wijnaldum’s agent, about a deal in recent weeks. Unlike Barcelona, PSG has quickly sorted out all the details and preconditions associated with the transfer.
