Leny Yoro is set to sign for Manchester United, according to journalists Fabrizio Romano and Florian Plettenberg on Wednesday evening. The centre-back joins from Lille LOSC and will soon sign a five-year contract. He has already passed the first part of the medical examination.

Manchester United and Lille had previously agreed on a transfer fee of fifty million euros, plus 12 million in bonuses for the top talent. Yoro will most likely sign a contract at Old Trafford until mid-2029, plus the option for another season.

Yoro has a contract with Lille until the summer of 2025. Last season he was an undisputed regular in the team of the now departed coach Paulo Fonseca. The eighteen-year-old defender played 44 official matches in all competitions.

Yoro passed his medical test on Wednesday and now he will have to go through a final series of tests before he finally signs. There are no more wrinkles to iron out.

What the signing of the French youth international means for Matthijs de Ligt's chances of joining Manchester United is still unclear.

Well did make the Red Devils Earlier in the day it was clear that bringing in Yoro was higher on the priority list than negotiating with Bayern Munich over De Ligt.

Bayern are reportedly asking for €50 million plus bonuses for De Ligt. However, Manchester United are not prepared to put that sum on the table, meaning that no final offer has yet been submitted to the Germans' club management.
