The number of possible opponents for Feyenoord and Vitesse in the third qualifying round of the Conference League has been reduced. A draw has already taken place a few hours before the possible opponent comes up in Nyon, Switzerland. For Feyenoord, a reunion with Jordy Wehrmann who left for FC Luzern is a possibility, while Vitesse may encounter Rosenborg BK or Anderlecht.

Feyenoord first has to deal with FC Drita from Kosovo in the second qualifying round. Next Thursday, the team from Rotterdam will first visit the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Prishtina, after which the return is scheduled a week later. For the third qualifying round, four possible opponents can be put forward on Monday afternoon from 2 p.m.: the winner of the diptych between RFC from Latvia and Puskás Akadémia from Hungary, the Swiss FC Lucerne, the winner of the diptych between Larne from Northern Ireland and the Danish AGF Aarhus or the winner of the diptych between the Scottish Hibernian and Santa Coloma from Andorra.

Should Feyenoord meet FC Lucerne, a reunion with Wehrmann awaits. The Feyenoord-trained midfielder played on a rental basis at the Swiss club for the past six months, conquered the cup and made the final switch earlier this summer. At Puskás Akadémia, the Rotterdammers might also meet two Dutchmen, because Yoëll van Nieff and Luciano Slagveer are under contract at the Hungarian club.

Where Feyenoord has a seeded status during the draw and therefore avoids the stronger clubs on paper, Vitesse is unplaced and a tougher opponent can come up for the Arnhem team. Based on the draw, Vitesse has to hope that the winner of the game between the Irish Dundalk FC and FC Levadia Tallinn from Estonia will come out. Otherwise, Vitesse will meet the winner of FH Hafnarfjördur (from Iceland) – Rosenborg BK (from Norway) or the Belgian Anderlecht. The first legs in the third qualifying round will be played on August 5, after which the return is scheduled a week later.
