The Amsterdam police arrested 154 football fans on Saturday evening who were on their way to the Johan Cruijff ArenA for the Ajax – AZ (0-0) match by metro, according to a press statement. The supporters sang anti-Semitic songs and were arrested for group insult.
AT5 adds that it concerns supporters of AZ. According to the police, the supporters continued to chant despite several warnings. At around 7:30 p.m., the police decided to stop the metro at Strandvliet station and detain all fans who had sung. As a result, they missed the top match in the Eredivisie, which was played a little further on in the ArenA.
