Björn Kuipers has put bad blood on players of Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening. According to Ander Herrera, the referee has called Leandro Paredes names during the match against Manchester City, while Marco Verratti claims to have been called names by Kuipers. The referee had his hands full in Manchester: he awarded Ángel Di María a direct red card and also handed out six yellow prints.

“We were the better team for seventy minutes. We did everything we could. We attacked, tried to keep doing that … We leave with our heads held high,” said Herrera at RMC, after which he criticizes Kuipers. “We often talk about respect for referees, but the referee said ‘fuck off’ to Leandro Paredes.

Verratti says that Kuipers fell out against him. “The referee said ‘fuck you’ to me a few times. If I do that, I will be suspended for ten games. I talk a lot with the referee during a match, but never say ‘fuck you’. “said the midfielder, who is disappointed with the result. “We fought until the last moment and gave everything. That’s how it goes in football sometimes. We keep trying.”

Afterwards, it could be seen on television that Mauricio Pochettino, the trainer of PSG, was going to get redress in the arbitration. According to Ziggo Sportanalyst Marco van Basten, however, gave the referee from Oldenzaal a good whistle. “Kuipers stayed focused. He whistled tightly. If the match had continued, he might have given twelve yellow cards, because it was that kind of match. You have to be consistent.”
