PSV will not be making much more of an appearance on the summer transfer market. The Eindhoven team only wants to sign a right central defender, revealed coach Peter Bosz in an interview with ESPN. There is one big 'if' attached to that: if the selection stays together. “Then we are actually fine,” says Bosz.

PSV has had a fairly busy transfer summer so far. Couhaib Driouech and Ryan Flamingo were signed from Excelsior and FC Utrecht respectively, while Malik Tillmann and Sergiño Dest made permanent transfers from Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona. On the other hand, there was the departure of Patrick van Aanholt (Galatasaray, was on loan), Armel Bella-Kotchap (Southampton, was on loan), André Ramalho (Corinthians) and Shurandy Sambo (Burnley).

The exit of Ramalho and Bella-Kotchap in particular is making itself felt, says Bosz. “That would mean we should have two players on the right centre. One is already there with Ryan (Flamingo, ed.), so we need to get one more. And if nothing else leaves, we're actually fine.”

Bosz is not worried about specific players leaving. Jerdy Schouten and Johan Bakayoko in particular are said to be in the market. “Great players,” says Bosz about that. “I hope they stay, but if they don't, we have to deal with that.”

In any case, Sepp van den Berg seems to be a candidate to fill the vacancy at right back. According to the Eindhoven Daily Newspaper PSV is prepared to pay 'a record amount', although it does not want to go as far as Liverpool's current asking price. The Reds hope to get twenty million euros for the young man-marker. PSV also signed Madi Monamay from Bayer Leverkusen, who is now joining the reserves.
