Jordan Henderson immediately made a solid impression on his debut for Ajax. After the top match against PSV (1-1), Kenneth Perez comes up with a striking statistic from the experienced midfielder: Henderson finished in second place when it comes to the most meters walked of all players on the field, behind teammate Kristian Hlynsson.

The top match Ajax – PSV turned out to be an intense match for many players. “What really struck me is the number of boys who were in danger of falling with cramps,” says Perez, who saw the players fall over in droves in the final phase.

“I expected that from the boys who don't play that often, because you now play a match where the level is higher than normal. You see that with Gooijer, Mauro Júnior who doesn't play too much…”

“It surprised me from Dest,” Perez continues. “Kenneth Taylor was in danger of getting a cramp, Sutalo was in danger of getting a cramp… Quite strange, to be honest.”

The greater contrast was with Henderson, who had last played a match for his previous club Al-Ettifaq on December 28. “And Henderson plays with two fingers up his nose for ninety minutes!” Perez notes.

“Henderson finished at three per minute played when it comes to the most meters run,” says Perez. “Only Mauro Júnior was eliminated in the final phase.” As a result, Henderson just overtook the PSV midfielder. Only Hlynsson ran even more meters than Henderson.

It is also noticeable that Henderson was very pure in the attacking passes. The Ajax midfielder sent no fewer than fifteen passes in the last part of the field and they all arrived. For comparison: Steven Bergwijn sent in twelve passes the final third and of these only seven arrived.
