PEC Zwolle gave the first victory of the season a good follow-up in the cup tournament on Tuesday evening. The team of trainer Art Langeler was 4-1 too strong for De Graafschap at home and thus easily reached the next round of the TOTO KNVB Cup. Heracles Almelo came to visit ASWH with a shock. The team of trainer Frank Wormuth looked at a draw for a long time, but in the final phase still pulled the longest end via Rai Vloet: 1-3.

PEC Zwolle – De Graafschap 4-1
To attract as many supporters as possible to the stadium, PEC season ticket holders were given free access on Tuesday evening. The nearly ten thousand spectators saw how the home team took matters into their own hands from the first minute and put De Graafschap under pressure. Yuta Nakayama and Gervane Kastaneer, however, were unlucky in the finish and saw their efforts go over and into the side net respectively. The only moment of danger from De Graafschap could be defused by Kostas Lamprou, who managed to work a shot from distance via the fingertips over the crossbar.

On the stroke of half-time, Nakayama broke the spell for the home team by nodding a corner from Luka Adzic in the far corner: 1-0. After the break, the score was quickly doubled by Langeler’s team. An attempt by Adzic was smothered in the bud, after which Mustafa Saymak was there like the chickens to still work the 2-0 against the ropes. PEC did not let De Graafschap get into the game for a moment and decided the game half an hour before time. From a fine attack, Dean Huiberts made his first for the Zwolle players. The midfielder placed the ball behind goalkeeper Hidde Jurjus from a difficult angle: 3-0. De Graafschap did something back from eleven meters through Joey Koning, but it was no longer exciting due to the final chord of Leandro Fernandes: 4-1.

FC Volendam – FC Emmen 0-3
The Kitchen Champion Division meeting between Volendam and Emmen had a waiting phase. Peter van Ooijen saw a shot blocked and on the other side Robert Mühren came up just short on a cross by Denso Kasius. Emmen should be grateful to goalkeeper Michael Brouwer that no goals had been scored at halftime, as the goalkeeper had, among other things, an excellent save on a bet by Mühren. In the second company Emmen pulled the duel to itself. Ten minutes after the break, Rui Mendes passed goalkeeper Filip Stankovic for the 0-1, after which the game was closed by Jasin-Amin Assehnoun ten minutes before the end. The midfielder made an excellent effort after a good individual action: 0-2. The final chord came from Mendes’ foot, who took care of his second of the evening in the final minute: 0-3.

Sparta Nijkerk – ADO The Hague 0-2
ADO Den Haag had a hard time visiting the amateurs of Sparta Nijkerk for a long time. The team of coach Ruud Brood had to watch how a ball had to be removed from the line twice in the first fifteen minutes of the game. The Nijkerkers then held out for a long time, but broke at the start of the quarter of an hour in The Hague. Who else but Thomas Verheydt made the liberating first goal, after which Evan Rottier doubled the score not much later. “This is very against the ratio”, a visibly disappointed Sparta Nijkerk then hurled into the world via Twitter.

ASWH – Heracles Almelo 1-3
In the opening phase, Noah Fadiga spoke on behalf of Frank Wormuth’s team. First with a shot that went just wide and then with a bet on the crossbar. It was Rai Vloet who broke open the score in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht after more than half an hour of play. After a cross from the right, the captain shot the ball in hard: 0-1. Both teams started the second half well and it was ASWH that made it 1-1 after ten minutes. Luuk Admiraal intercepted the ball, continued, cut out a defender and shot high. Yet Heracles escaped unscathed in the final minutes. In the 87th minute, Peter Verhoeve unfortunately extended a cross into his own goal and Vloet determined the final score in extra time.
