Paul Pogba is ‘increasingly likely’ to extend his expiring contract with Manchester United next year, reports Sky Sports. The 28-year-old has rejected a concrete proposal to that effect and appears to be open to Paris Saint-Germain, which has serious interest.

Manchester United must now decide whether to sell Pogba or let him serve out his contract. With a transfer fee of 105 million euros, the Frenchman is the most expensive purchase in club history and a transfer-free departure would therefore mean a huge loss. There is according to Sky Sports There has been no contact between PSG and Manchester United about Pogba yet. The French top club is ready to take action, it sounds like.

There are two players at Manchester United who are eligible to replace Pogba. Leon Goretzka of Bayern Munich, like the Frenchman, has a contract until mid-2022 and could therefore be recruited transfer-free next year. Eduardo Camavinga of Stade Rennes is also in the picture. The eighteen-year-old midfielder will also run out of his contract next year, although the French club seems to be planning to prevent a transfer-free departure of his top talent.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are still negotiating with Raphael Varane to discuss the 28-year-old defender’s personal terms. United will not enter into negotiations with Real Madrid until a personal agreement with Varane has been reached. The British superpower expects to quickly reach an agreement with the Royal. Varane himself would like to make the switch.
