Remko Pasveer will not be in action for the time being, Ajax announced on Monday. The goalkeeper has been out of circulation for at least eight weeks due to injuries. Ajax also reports that Jay Gorter will not be available for trainer Erik ten Hag for at least two weeks. Both goalkeepers were injured last Wednesday in the warm-up of the Champions League match with Benfica. It seems that André Onana is under the bar at Ajax for the time being.

Onana was already under the bar on Sunday in the away match against Go Ahead Eagles, which Ajax surprisingly lost 2-1. It is not clear when Pasveer can make his comeback in the main force of the leader in the Eredivisie. Due to hip surgery and the associated rehabilitation period, Ten Hag cannot count on Maarten Stekelenburg for the time being.

The goalkeeper problems are bad for Ten Hag given the busy schedule. Ajax will face AZ on Thursday in the semifinals of the TOTO KNVB Cup. Three days later, RKC Waalwijk will visit the Johan Cruijff ArenA, after which a visit will be made to SC Cambuur on 11 March. On Tuesday, March 15, the second confrontation with Benfica in the eighth final of the Champions League is on the program.
