SC Cambuur is almost certain of the first period title in the Kitchen Champion Division thanks to a big victory over Roda JC Kerkrade (3-0). Henk de Jong’s team was even less than a minute away from the period title on Friday evening, but De Graafschap won against Jong PSV (2-1) in the 93rd minute. A draw in Doetinchem would have meant a party in Leeuwarden, as NAC Breda had lost at Almere City (2-0) at the same time.

According to The Telegraph and the Leeuwarder Courant About 200 supporters had come to the stadium to celebrate the period title and most of them “did not keep any distance”. Cambuur’s sporting success seemed to be just as important to the fans than the applicable distance rules. Henk de Jong appeared in front of the camera somewhat later FOX Sports. The Cambuur trainer had not escaped the supporters turnout outside the home port and turned out to have gone out to the fans first. “I had to go to our supporters. That’s really important. I knew they were close together, but they are all apart now. They are very happy and the police are happy now too. We showed ourselves and now we are all back inside. ”

“This is a people’s club, we look after each other. So it broke up very quickly too. That is great class of the supporters. The people are very happy. And we have been through something, ”De Jong referred to the promotion that went wrong last season after the competition was stopped due to the corona virus. “It is surprising that we are doing so well during this period. They are very happy with that. ”

The Leeuwarder Courant writes that “some police officers were present and were watching the crowd.” It was also claimed The Telegraph however, no action was taken when the waiver rules were not enforced. Earlier, there was a big fuss after a meeting of Willem II fans in Tilburg, for which the mayor had given permission.
