SC Cambuur is almost certain of the first period title in the Kitchen Champion Division thanks to a big victory over Roda JC Kerkrade (3-0). Henk de Jong’s team was even less than a minute away from the period title on Friday evening, but De Graafschap won against Jong PSV (2-1) in the 93rd minute. A draw in Doetinchem would have meant a party in Leeuwarden, as NAC Breda had lost at Almere City (2-0) at the same time.

According to The Telegraph and the Leeuwarder Courant About 200 supporters had come to the stadium to celebrate the period title and most of them “did not keep any distance”. Cambuur’s sporting success seemed to be just as important to the fans than the applicable distance rules.
