Real Madrid has unsuccessfully made a first offer for Kylian Mbappe, reports Goal Tuesday evening. The attacker has only been under contract with Paris Saint-Germain for a year and Real Madrid hopes to sign him in the final week of the current transfer window. According to RMC Sports and TF1, sources who also mention the offer, the top club from LaLiga has reported with approximately 160 million euros. PSG has refused the offer, it sounds like, but is taking into account a second offer from Madrid.

Goal initially had few further details about the offer. The sources with which the football website has spoken, give few details due to the ‘sensitivity of the process’. The purchase of Mbappe is seen by Real Madrid club management as ‘the most important and complex’ transfer in recent club history. ‘Extreme care’ is therefore required. Real Madrid sees the arrival of Mbappe as an opportunity to polish up their image, to radiate more power and above all to perform better in the sporting field.

Florentino Pérez is personally involved in the process. The Real Madrid president has a ‘direct line with Qatar’, it sounds like; PSG has had Qatari owners since 2011. According to Goal Real Madrid is committed to maintaining good relations with PSG. A personal agreement with Mbappé is not expected to be a problem, as the Frenchman himself is looking for a departure. He is said to have a bad relationship with technical director Leonardo and has declined an offer to extend his contract.

Real Madrid raised at least 75 million euros this summer with the sale of Raphaël Varane (Manchester United) and Martin Ödegaard (Arsenal) and partly because of this has the opportunity to snare Mbappé. RMC reported Monday that PSG is already looking for a replacement and has contacted Richarlison. Everton’s Brazilian attacker is a friend of Neymar, who dropped his name at the club management in Paris. The attacker will be fixed until mid-2024, so that technical director Marcel Brands does not need to proceed with the sale.

Mbappe is already the most expensive player ever behind Neymar, having switched from AS Monaco to Paris Saint-Germain in 2018 for 180 million euros. With a transfer fee of 160 million euros, at the age of 22 he would become the footballer for whom the most money has been paid in total. The transfer fees add up to 340 million euros. Earlier this month, Romelu Lukaku became the player who has been paid the most, as clubs paid a total of just under 328 million euros for the striker. Lukaku broke Neymar’s record (310 million)
