Lucas Hernández is going to exchange Bayern Munich for Paris Saint-Germain, Fabrizio Romano and others have reported. L’Equipe. According to French sports newspaper, PSG pays a transfer fee of forty million euros excluding bonuses to recruit the 27-year-old defender. Hernández will sign a contract with the Parisians on Friday until mid-2025.

Hernández was taken over from Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2019 for no less than eighty million euros. In Bavaria, the defender fought to become a basic customer, but his period in the Bundesliga was also characterized by injuries. While playing for Bayern, he missed 65 games and had to watch for a total of 481 days. During the previous season, on November 22, the unfortunate Hernández tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the World Cup against Australia (4-1 win). The left back was replaced in that match by his brother Theo Hernández. Lucas Hernández is still recovering from his injury.

Hernández has already played his last game for Bayern. Where the central defender annex left back was still seen as ‘untouchable’ by the previous Bayern board, that is different now. Due to his contract expiring in mid-2024, the position of the record master clear: renew or sell. Hernández indicated that he wanted to leave and also became convinced of the project that Luis Campos, PSG’s technical director, presented to him.

Hernández’s imminent departure will free up a spot in Bayern’s defence, which has already reached a personal deal with Napoli defender Kim Min-jae. The South Korean comes over from the Italian champion for 50 million euros and signs a contract until mid-2028. With the transfer-free capture of Raphaël Guerreiro, Bayern has already prepared for an outgoing transfer from Hernández.
