Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have become embroiled in a fierce battle for Antonio Rüdiger’s signature, reports ASH. The 28-year-old Chelsea centre-back has been in the spotlight for a long time the Royal, now facing serious competition from the French superpower. PSG hopes to steal the German, who still has a contract until next summer at Stamford Bridge, from Real’s nose.

ASH headline Wednesday with the words Pelea Madrid-PSG por RüdigerIn other words: the battle between PSG and Real for Rüdiger has started. According to the Spanish newspaper, the German’s entourage has now held initial talks with Leonardo, technical director at Paris Saint-Germain. Also BILD reports that talks are underway between agent Sahr Senesie and the PSG club management. Rüdiger is an important transfer target for PSG, where he must form an extra lock on the door next to Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe and Sergio Ramos.

In addition to PSG and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich is also in the race for Rüdiger’s signature. The defender reportedly wants an annual salary of twelve million euros. Chelsea hopes to keep the mandekker longer, but does not seem to want to go further than eight million euros. Rüdiger knows that with an annual salary of eight million euros, he would earn less than his teammates Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcos Alonso, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz and Romelu Lukaku, putting the negotiations at an impasse.

Rüdiger has been under contract with Chelsea since the summer of 2017, which took him over from AS Roma for 35 million euros. The 49-time German international has since added a Champions League, a Europa League, a European Supercup and an FA Cup to his palmares and can generally count on a basic place, especially since the arrival of compatriot Thomas Tuchel as manager. Chelsea put Rüdiger’s contract extension last summer over the arrival of Raphael Varane, who was eventually taken over by Manchester United from Real Madrid.
