Oussama Idrissi personally led Cadiz to a LaLiga victory on Sunday afternoon. In the city of the same name, the team of trainer Sergio González was 2-0 too strong for Rayo Vallecano. Idrissi provided an assist for the opening goal, while the Sevilla mercenary scored his first goal in LaLiga after more than an hour of play. It was a welcome three-pointer for Cádiz, who are in eighteenth place in LaLiga with 24 points. For Rayo, which is thirteenth, it was the sixth league defeat in a row.

It was the second time that Idrissi could count on a starting place in a LaLiga game at Cádiz. After he was unable to make his mark in the game against Celta de Vigo (0-0) and stayed on the bench for 90 minutes against Granada as Getafe, he was crucial for his team this time. In the first company, his contribution was still relatively small, but in the second company, the former attacker from AZ, among others, stood up.

Ten minutes after the restart, Idrissi proved his worth with a corner kick from the left. Goalkeeper Luca Zidane ducked under the ball, allowing Rubén Alcaraz to nod in at the far post: 1-0. In the 63rd minute of play, Idrissi struck himself. Zidane completely misjudged a ball from Iván Alejo, which made the left wing attacker’s feet fall. Idrissi was given space to take on and found the bottom left corner with a placed shot: 2-0. In the end, the goalscorer was sidelined in the 79th minute in favor of Santiago Arzamendia.
