Bayern Munich has Erling Braut Haaland in their sights, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic confirms in conversation with Sports1. The reigning Bundesliga champions took over players such as Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels directly from the competitor in the past eight years and Salihamidzic does not rule out that the club will also apply for Haaland.

“He’s a great player, probably coveted by the whole world. He has to be on our sights, otherwise we’d be a bunch of amateurs,” the director said. “But he is a Borussia Dortmund player.” Haaland has a contract until mid-2024 in Dortmund. He has been linked to clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid in recent months, but Dortmund has no intention of letting him go.

“It seems pretty clear to me that Haaland will stay at Dortmund,” said general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke at the end of July. “I say that every day, but nobody seems to listen because I hear a new rumor every week.” Haaland scored three goals in Friday’s match against SV Wehen Wiesbaden (0-3 win) in the DFB-Pokal and emphasized after that hat-trick that he is “proud” to be part of the club.

There is therefore a good chance that Haaland will be associated with Dortmund for at least another season. “That is in the first place because of my contract, which runs here for another three years,” he himself said two weeks ago in an interview with BILD. “And I also enjoy it here. Conquering the German Cup also plays an important role, because winning prizes is something I love to do,” the 21-year-old attacker refers to last season’s won final.
