SC Cambuur has not yet been able to claim the first period title in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. Henk de Jong’s team won well against Roda JC Kerkrade and seemed to benefit from the results of the competitors: NAC Breda lost at the same time to Almere City FC and De Graafschap seemed unable to beat Jong PSV. However, the team from Doetinchem still beat Young PSV in the extra time and so Mike Snoei ‘s team can win the period title if the make-up game with NAC Breda is won 19-0 on 11 November.

SC Cambuur 3-0 Roda JC Kerkrade
In the first ten minutes Cambuur was searching, while Roda had a slight field advantage. Still, De Jong’s team came out of nowhere to 1-0. A through ball from Mitchel Paulissen, which was originally intended for Jaimy Jacobs, fell through a defensive leg at the feet of Robert Mühren, who did not fail face-to-face with Miguel Santos. Ten minutes before half-time the 2-0 fell: after an interception by Doke Schmidt, it was Mühren who laid wide on Giovanni Korte, who ended up behind Santos.

A few minutes after the break, Cambuur got the third goal thrown in the lap. A foul pass by Niek Vossebelt towards the goal was intercepted by Jarchinio Antonia, who made it 3-0 from a difficult angle. Cambuur controlled the game and had the prospect of a fourth goal via, among others, Mühren. Seventeen minutes before the end, Cambuur had to continue with ten men when Paulissen received his second yellow card after a collision.

Almere City FC – NAC Breda 2-0
The first half seemed to end scoreless, but the score was 1-0 just before half time. It was Elias Sörensen who headed in the ball and thus scored his first goal for Almere City. A hard blow for NAC, also because Cambuur had taken a double lead against Roda JC a few minutes earlier. However, Maurice Steijn’s team did not get really big chances in the first 45 minutes. Frederik Helstrup almost pushed the ball into his own goal ten minutes before half time and a shot by Mounir El Allouchi lacked power. Almere City showed itself after just over twenty minutes of play when Nick Olij saved on a header from Thomas Verheijven.

NAC got away well shortly after half time when Tim Receveur shot on goal from just outside the box and saw his bet end on the inside of the post. After almost an hour of play, Olij prevented a second goal from Sörensen, who shot at a difficult angle. A second goal was in the air and in the end Faris Hammouti nicely shot the liberating 2-0 for the team of Ole Tobiasen ten minutes before the end.

De Graafschap – Young PSV 2-1
The teams of Mike Snoei and Peter Uneken kept each other in balance in the first half and the first 45 minutes seemed to end in 0-0. However, it was eighteen-year-old Dennis Vos who put Young PSV on 0-1 with his first goal in professional football. However, the equalizer soon followed: after a foul on Mohamed Hamdaoui, Ralf Seuntjens put the 1-1 on the scoreboard from eleven meters. De Graafschap put Young PSV under pressure from time to time in the second half, but that did not yield any really big chances. Deep in the extra time, Seuntjes took care of the 2-1 and at the same time postponed the party in Cambuur.
