According to the CIES Football Observatory, Frenkie de Jong is one of the most valuable players in the world. The Swiss-based independent research firm, which deals with statistical studies on football-related topics, has ranked the midfielder in tenth place. Vinicius Junior is the most valuable player in the world with an estimated transfer value of 166.4 million euros.

The CIES Soccer Observatory publishes a list of 100 players with the highest estimated transfer value every six months. The research bureau only takes players from the five major competitions. Vinicius is keeping Phil Foden and Erling Braut Haaland behind with an estimated transfer value of 166.4 million euros. On the heads of the attacker of Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are amounts of 152.6 million euros and 142.5 million euros respectively.

With tenth place, Frenkie de Jong (115.2 million euros) is the only Dutchman on the list. Kevin de Bruyne has the highest rating among players aged 30 and over, while Kylian Mbappe (71.5 million euros) tops the list of most valued players whose contracts expire in June. The transfer values ​​have been calculated using the unique econometric approach developed by the research team at the CIES Football Observatory and are independent of the surrender clauses in the players’ contracts.
