André Onana seems to have won the complete trust of Simone Inzaghi. The goalkeeper who came over from Ajax has had to make do with playing minutes in the Champions League so far, but is under the bar on Saturday afternoon in the away match against Sassuolo. It is for the Cameroonian his debut in the Serie A. Denzel Dumfries is also in the starting lineup.

Onana’s patience was put to the test in his first months as a player for Internazionale. The goalkeeper came to Milan on the assumption that he would become the first goalkeeper, but suddenly saw Samir Handanovic extend his contract. However, the Slovenian has dropped some stitches in recent weeks, so that the choice has now definitely fallen on Onana. Handanovic’s reserve role is remarkable, as he has been the regular goalkeeper under the bar for ten years now i Nerazzurri.

Until Saturday, Onana has been in three official games this season, while Handanovic has already been under the bar eight times. Inter are in a disappointing ninth place after eight games in Serie A. In recent weeks, AS Roma and Udinese have lost in competition, which has increased the pressure on Inzaghi somewhat. In the Champions League, Barcelona won 1-0 on Wednesday with a goal from Hakan Çalhanoglu.

Line-up Internazionale: onana; D’Ambrosio, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Asllani, Salhanoglu, Dimarco; Lautaro Martinez, Dzeko
