Erik ten hag has announced the line-up of Ajax for the away match against Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday afternoon. André Onana returns under the bar with the leader due to various injuries in the goalkeeper’s guild. Noussair Mazraoui starts on the bench, while Jurriën Timber is completely absent from the visitors. Devyne Rensch starts as right back and Perr Schuurs replaces Timber in the heart of the defence. In De Adelaarshorst the ball rolls from 4.45 pm.

Onana keeps goal because Remko Pasveer and Jay Gorter were injured in the warm-up of the Champions League match against Benfica on Wednesday. As a result, the duo is missing from the match selection for the game against Go Ahead. Ten Hag has not been able to rely on Maarten Stekelenburg for some time, who is still recovering from hip surgery. It is not yet known why Ten Hag does not use Timber on Sunday, who still played with the Dutch Champions League participant on Wednesday. Gravenberch also started against Benfica, but now has to settle for a spare role. Davy Klaassen gets the confidence of his coach this time.

Jurriën Timber is missing from Ajax’s match selection for the match against Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday.

Go Ahead Eagles prevented defeat in two of the last 33 Eredivisie matches with Ajax: in April 1987 (1-1 in Deventer) and earlier this season in Amsterdam (0-0). No team took less points in the last nine Eredivisie matches than Go Ahead (three, just like Willem II), while only AZ collected more points in this period (25) than Ajax (24). In percentage terms, no team has scored as many goals with the head as Go Ahead (29% – 7/24), while only Ajax has not yet conceded a head goal.
