It is highly doubtful that Albert Gudmundsson will leave Genoa this transfer period. The Icelander is in the concrete interest of Fiorentina, which has already made several offers in Genoa. So far without results.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, among others, Genoa requires an amount of thirty million euros excluding bonuses for the former striker of PSV and AZ, among others. Fabrizio Romano reports that Genoa is willing to talk from 25 million euros.

Fiorentina's concrete interest has come into play in recent days. La Viola made several offers, but never came close to Genoa's asking price, which according to Di Marzio is thirty million euros excluding five to six million in bonuses. Gudmundsson still has a contract at Stadio Luigi Ferraris until the summer of 2027.

According to Romano, Fiorentina have offered 22 million euros for Gudmundsson, but that is not enough for Genoa. Genoa sold Radu Dragusin to Tottenham Hotspur for 25 million euros earlier this transfer winter and has no intention of letting another strongman go, unless the absolute top price comes on the table.

Genoa does not plan to let the 26-year-old striker go for less than the asking price on the final day of the transfer market. Negotiations between Genoa and Fiorentina are currently at a standstill, which means it is quite possible that Gudmundsson will see his transfer fall through.

Gudmundsson moved from KR Reykjavik Under 19 to SC Heerenveen in September 2013, where he played in the youth academy for two years before PSV picked him up. On behalf of the Eindhoven top club, he played twelve games in the first team. His next destination was AZ, where he became an important player and scored 24 goals. In January 2022, he left for Genoa for 1.5 million euros, where he is one of the pillars in coach Alberto Gilardino's team.

Fiorentina active in the transfer market

Fiorentina is certainly not sitting still in the transfer market and on Wednesday already secured the services of Andrea Belotti, who is rented from AS Roma for the rest of the season. Il Gallo could not count on a permanent starting position in Rome, given the presence of Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala.

Moreover, Fiorentina hopes to strengthen itself with Largie Ramazani. The Belgian from UD Almería, who recently scored against Real Madrid, should be rented from the LaLiga club.
