Matchday 5 of the Eredivisie is over. Feyenoord managed to convincingly defeat SC Heerenveen (6-1) in De Kuip, while PSV had no children at home against NEC (4-0). FC Twente recorded a convincing victory over Ajax (3-1) on Sunday and AZ managed to beat Sparta Rotterdam (2-0). PSV is the main supplier this week with four players, while Feyenoord supplies three men. These are the highlights from last weekend!

While André Ramalho was often the target of criticism this season, he showed himself to be a true leader in defense in the home game against NEC. During the press conference afterwards, Peter Bosz addressed the Brazilian man. “I think he was our best player, André. I thought he played really well.†Ramalho is in the VZ Team of the Week accompanied by Joey Veerman, Luuk de Jong and Noa Lang. The latter not only scores on the field, as his hit ‘7K Op Je Feestje’ has now been listened to more than 400,000 times on Spotify.

Although Michel Vlap did not score any goals or provide any assists against Ajax, the Frisian was the absolute trendsetter in the Twente team. Hanging from the left, Vlap was a plague for Devyne Rensch, who was constantly lost to his direct opponent and was even substituted at half-time. In his new role, Vlap plays like reborn, which means he has fully earned his place in the Team of the Week.

Anyone who had said ten years ago that Alen Halilovic would one day be under contract with Fortuna Sittard would have surprised many people. The Croatian left foot, who played for AC Milan and FC Barcelona in the past, was important against FC Volendam (3-1 win) with a goal and an assist. His through ball in Oguzhan Özyakup’s tying goal in particular was of great class.

The VZ Team of the Week: Jeffrey de Lange (Go Ahead Eagles); André Ramalho (PSV), Dávid Hancko (Feyenoord), Quilindschy Hartman (Feyenoord); Alen Halilovic (Fortuna Sittard), Dani de Wit (AZ), Joey Veerman (PSV), Michel Vlap (FC Twente); Igor Paixao (Feyenoord), Luuk de Jong (PSV), Noa Lang (PSV).
