Noa Lang has criticized Ajax. The attacking midfielder of Club Brugge looks in the book Bluvn Goan including his period with the Amsterdammers. In the book, in which author Raf Willems pays tribute to various club icons, he also talks about the way in which he experiences his time at Club Brugge.

Lang emphasizes in the book that he feels very much at home in Bruges, where he settled more than a year ago. “Club Brugge is the Ajax of Belgium. They radiate that they are the number one in the country and want to have the best players.” He notices that he is very much appreciated in the Belgian city, and he hopes to leave a footprint with Blue-Black. “I want them to remember Noa Lang as a player who brought trophies and was very successful. I try to be an example for the youngest boys by showing them that they have to play football with guts, with swagger and just be themselves. At all times.”

That appreciation was regularly lacking at Ajax, Lang says candidly. He calls the football world ‘false’ and ‘dirty’, after which he refers to his period in Amsterdam. “I am resistant to that (the football world, ed.) by being myself. Really by being one hundred percent myself. As a result, I already ran into a wall when I stayed at Ajax. Most people loved me anyway, except those who made the lineup. They mainly looked at the peripheral matters and much less at the football qualities,” said Lang, who is inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Cristiano is my example as a personality. He withstood the enormous pressure in all areas. He always proves to be a winner and is also vomited by the football world,” concludes Lang. Since his final transfer from Ajax to Club Brugge on 1 July 2020, he managed to play football in the Dutch, thanks to the good performance at Club Brugge. He now has two international matches to his name. He played a total of 57 games on behalf of Club Brugge, scoring 23 times and providing 18 assists.
