PSV’s line-up for the first league match against Heracles Almelo is known. Roger Schmidt cannot have Olivier Boscagli, who is missing due to private circumstances. The defender is replaced by Armando Obispo. Furthermore, Yorbe Vertessen, Mauro Júnior and Bruma surprisingly have a basic place. The match between Heracles and PSV starts on Saturday evening at 6.45 pm at Erve Asito.

PSV, which already has the most official matches in the new season of all Eredivisie clubs, knew in advance that Richard Ledezma, Maximiliano Romero, Maxime Delanghe and Vincent Müller would not be fit. Ritsu Doan returns to PSV this weekend after participating in the Olympic Games with Japan, but is not in the selection for the duel with Heracles. Just before the game it turned out that Boscagli is not available due to private circumstances.

Vertessen seems to be playing as a striker. His entrance drives Eran Zahavi to the bank. Cody Gakpo also takes a place on the bench, after a base place against FC Midtjylland in the return match of the third Champions League preliminary round. The same goes for Mario Gotze. It looks like Noni Madueke and Bruma will play from the flanks and Mauro Junior will act as an attacking midfielder, but the exact details will become clear around kick-off.

Heracles coach Frank Wormuth has to do without Janis Blaswich, the goalkeeper and captain of his team, due to a muscle injury. Defender Marco Rente and midfielder Ismail Azzaoui are also out due to muscle injuries. The question is who will be preferred on the right in the center of the defence: midfielder Lucas Schoofs or newcomer Sven Sonnenberg?
