SC Cambuur must get past Jasper Cillessen on Tuesday evening if it wants to advance to the first cup final in club history. The 65-time international is preferred to Robin Roefs in goal at NEC. The victimized Roefs did keep all other cup matches.

NEC coach Rogier Meijer announced this on Monday afternoon. “This is the first time in 25 years that this club can reach a final. Then I think the first goalkeeper should keep goal,” the trainer is quoted by Omroep Gelderland.

It is a hard blow for the young goalkeeper. “Robin was not cheering. He was disappointed,” Meijer explains. The coach also has bad news for fans with red-green-black hearts.

Proper will not play in the semi-final match. The talented midfielder and captain of the Dutch Juniors was injured during the match against Sparta Rotterdam (2-0 win) and the fixture comes too early for him.

He will also have to miss the league match against FC Volendam next Friday, he writes The Telegraph after Meijer's press talk.

Nothing is yet known about the severity of the injury, the morning newspaper writes. This requires further medical examination. NEC had an excellent dress rehearsal at home against Sparta on Sunday. The week before, the team may have done itself a disservice with a 2-2 draw against Ajax.

Cambuur had a less good preparation for the match. The Leeuwarders lost relatively without a chance to FC Emmen (2-0) on Friday and managed to win only one of the last six competition matches.

In the first and last semi-final in the current Cambuur Stadium – the Leeuwarders will move to a new home next season – the greatest cup performance in club history must be achieved on Tuesday evening.
