Napoli will be wearing Emporio Armani uniforms this season. The Italian top club presented the new uniforms on Thursday. After last season, Kappa said goodbye to clothing brand, after which chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis decided to take a new path to boost sales of the Napoli uniforms.
It is the first time that a football club will play at the highest level in uniforms from the Italian brand of fashion designer Giorgio Armani. “We have a lot of fans in the United States, but nobody bought our shirts. Then I said: I’ll do it myself. This idea costs me money, but it is the new reality in football,” De Laurentiis told Italian media earlier this summer.
The chairman of Napoli chose to collaborate with Emporio Armani and took responsibility for the design, colors and material himself. The fashion brand of Giorgio Armani has been in the sports world for some time now. EA7 is already involved in athletics and basketball (Olimpia Milano), while Italy’s national team wore suits from Armani earlier this summer.
