The North Brabant derby between NAC Breda and Willem II was halted around the 75th minute by referee Jeroen Manschot. The referee felt compelled to do so after a supporter threw a burning torch on the field. The tightened guidelines of the KNVB prescribe that the game must then temporarily come to a standstill. The fanatical NAC audience reacts angrily to the instigator.

The B-Side had announced in advance that it would use fireworks, but called on all fellow supporters not to throw anything during the game. Now that that has happened in the second half, the hard core reacts incensed. “Shame on you, shame on you,” the B-Side sang in the direction of the perpetrator. The match will resume once after a cooldown period. If something is thrown again, the duel must be stopped permanently.

Prior to the fraught Brabant derby, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of former NAC player Cock Luyten, who died at the age of 86. The minute of silence was converted by the loyal supporters of NAC into a minute of noise, in which the fireworks seemed to be lit from all sides.
