MVV Maastricht had a very difficult time at Sports Complex De Toekomst on Monday evening. Jong Ajax entered the Kitchen Champion Division match against the Limburgers with million-dollar purchases such as Sivert Mannsverk and Anton Gaaei. After two early goals from Julian Rijkhoff, a winter purchase from Ajax, MVV responded to X with an angry tweet.

Rijkhoff will play his second match for Jong Ajax on Monday. While the nineteen-year-old striker, who was brought back from Borussia Dortmund, did not score against Jong FC Utrecht last week (0-1 win), he scored two goals in a row early on Monday against MVV.

The Limburg club is known on X for its flamboyant way of reporting matches and did not hold back after the early 2-0 deficit. MVV criticizes the current structure of the Kitchen Champion Division, in which promising teams from Eredivisie clubs have been participating for several years.

“Julian Rijkhoff was signed this winter for an amount equal to twice the salary budget of MVV,” the club claims on to shoot.”

Prior to the meeting with Jong Ajax, MVV was second in the third period of the Kitchen Champion Division. With a win over De Toekomst, Maurice Verberne's team would take the lead in the period.

The hateful tweet was quickly deleted by MVV. Young Ajax won the match 3-0.
