Derry Murkin has reached an agreement in principle with Holstein Kiel, sources close to the deal have said. Football zoneThe 24-year-old winger still has a contract with Schalke 04 until mid-2026, but he would like to make the move to the Bundesliga himself.

At the moment, negotiations are in full swing between Schalke 04 and Holstein Kiel. Murkin himself is already fully convinced of the possible transfer and has already reached an agreement with the promoted club on the terms. A four-year contract is ready.

Schalke, who will once again play in Germany's second division next season, do not want to lose Murkin just like that and are taking a tough stance in the negotiations over the transfer.

In the summer of 2023, Murkin made the switch from FC Volendam to Schalke for an amount of approximately 800,000 euros. In his first season at the royal blue he made such an impression that he can immediately take a new step.

At Schalke, Murkin made 23 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring 1 goal and providing 6 assists. He missed the final phase of the season due to a muscle injury, but has since made a full recovery.

Before leaving for Schalke, Murkin played his entire career at Volendam. He reached one of his highlights in the 2021/22 season, when the left-footer forced promotion to the Eredivisie with the club.

Holstein Kiel finished last season in second place in the 2.Bundesliga and were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in the club's history. The club will start the Bundesliga season on August 24 with an away match against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
