Mike Verweij has additional information about the controversial transfer of Borna Sosa. Tuesday evening the NOS released the news that Ajax bought Sosa on the final day of the transfer period through a German agent’s office, which owns shares in a private company of technical director Sven Mislintat. Ajax appears not to be aware of this. There may be a conflict of interest and the club has therefore started an investigation into the actions of the technical director. Later in the evening, Verweij added to the news that Mislintat forced Sosa to change agents.

In any case, research is being conducted into the transfer of Sosa, who switched to Ajax on the final day of the last transfer period for a fee of approximately eight million euros. According to the NOS, that transfer came about through a German business relationship, while Ajax was not aware of this. This concerns the entrepreneur Arthur Beck, who bought shares in the company Matchmetrics GmbH. Mislintat owns 35 percent of the latter company’s shares.

“What makes the transfer of Sosa, who ultimately went from Stuttgart to Ajax for eight million euros on September 1, even more exciting is that until August 31, the Croatian was not transferred by Beck at all, but by Thies Bliemeister of the German branch of CAA Stellar. guided,” Verweij revealed on Tuesday evening. “On that last day of August, according to the sources, he received a message from Mislintat that Ajax was interested in him and asked if he could make video calls. To his surprise, in that conversation he met not only Mislintat, but also Beck. That reading is confirmed by CAA Stellar Europe and is also included in WhatsApp traffic between Sosa and Bliemeister.”

“Sosa tells Bliemeister that he can only make the switch to Ajax with Beck, because Mislintat only wants to do business with that agent and not with CAA Stellar,” Verweij continues. “That is surprising to that company, because in the past it concluded deals with Ajax to everyone’s satisfaction and Sosa has a contract with CAA Stellar. CAA Stellar Europe also confirms this. The sources further report that Sosa felt uncomfortable leaving Bliemeister because he was very satisfied with him. However, Sosa did not want to pass up the opportunity to sign with Ajax until 2028,” said the journalist.
