The Minister of Justice and Security, Dilan Yesilgöz – Zegerius, has lashed out hard at the 32-year-old Feyenoord supporter who pelted Davy Klaassen with an object on Wednesday evening. The Ajax midfielder was hit by an object from the audience in the second half, after which blood flowed from his head. Allard Lindhout then decided to temporarily stop the game.

“What a low,” Yesilgöz writes on Twitter. “What a shame. If you harass or pelt players you are not a supporter, but a huge bastard who must be punished.” Just before that, Klaassen took care of the 1-2 lead for Ajax. Shortly afterwards, the the Dutch international suffered a head injury and was unable to play the game. The Rotterdam Police announced that the perpetrator, a man from Roelofarendsveen, has been arrested.

Klaassen left afterwards ESPN know that things are going well for him. “It’s going fine. It’s going okay, but I had a throbbing feeling in the head, difficulty focusing. Then I can continue very bravely, but that doesn’t make much sense.” Klaassen was replaced by Brian Brobbey. Ajax held on with the necessary art and flying and thus qualified for the final, in which PSV will be the opponent on April 30.
