Denzel Dumfries and Donyell Malen will not return to PSV for the time being. According to gangers, the European Championship-goers of the Dutch national team The Telegraph until July 22, the day after the first meeting between PSV and Galatasaray in the preliminary round of the Champions League. It Eindhovens Dagblad however, does not mention a specific date, pointing out that it could be all week, “depending on their situation in the transfer market”.

“If there is no prospect of a transfer, PSV will train the duo. However, it can also go quickly with a transfer, if agent Mino Raiola also gives his blessing,” writes PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of the regional newspaper. The journalist’s comment raises question marks on social media, because he seems to insinuate that the Italian Dutchman has the last word. “He does not have the last word,” Elfrink emphasizes in a response. “But he is an important factor. Of course PSV also has a voice. The fact that this is not explicitly stated does not mean that it is not the case.”

According to Elfrink, PSV still assumes ‘a quick transfer’. Malen is particularly interested in Borussia Dortmund, although the Bundesliga club has not always reported a formal offer in Eindhoven. The Telegraph writes that ‘Borussia Dortmund is still working with Raiola to make a first offer for Malen that tempts PSV’. The agreement of 22-year-old Malen with PSV will not end until mid-2024 and PSV hopes for at least thirty million euros.

Around Dumfries, 25 years old and a commitment until the summer of 2023, according to The Telegraph quieter. According to the newspaper, this is ‘due to the lack of clout of interested clubs’. The right-back has been linked with Everton and Internazionale in recent weeks. Both players will, as soon as they report, first complete their own program outside the group to get fit, mainly for an upcoming transfer or to join if transfers are not forthcoming (longer).
