Pablo Rosario is an interesting option for Ajax, says journalist Mike Verweij in the football podcast Kickoff by The Telegraph. The club watcher would find it 'logical' if the Amsterdam team ended up with the 27-year-old controller of OGC Nice. Rosario is still with the French mid-tier until mid-2025.

In Monday's podcast, Verweij is asked whether Nice, the old employer of trainer Francesco Farioli, has any interesting players for Ajax. The journalist then immediately comes up with Rosario. “Pablo Rosario plays at Nice, that would be a very logical choice.”

“Rosario was one of the defining players under Farioli, he knows the Eredivisie and played at Ajax in the youth ranks,” said Verweij. “I can imagine it, although I also think that as a new coach you should not bring a lot of players from your old clubs. Ajax should not allow that either.”

According to Transfer market Rosario is currently worth 8 million euros. If the controller decides not to renew his contract, Nice will have to sell him this summer or winter to gain anything from his departure.

Rosario has been playing for Nice since the summer of 2021, when PSV received 6 million euros for his services. The counter now stands at 113 official matches on behalf of les Aiglonsin which Rosario had 5 assists.

Under Farioli, Rosario was often a starter last season. The right foot played a total of 2,365 minutes for the Italian coach, spread over 34 appearances. Farioli used Rosario as right back, central defender, controller and central midfielder.

Rosario from Amsterdam not only has a past with PSV, but also played in the youth academies of Feyenoord, Ajax and Almere City. With PSV he became national champion of the Netherlands in the 2017/18 season. In October 2018, Rosario played his only international match for the Netherlands, during the away match against Belgium (1-1).
