Michel Vorm will return to FC Utrecht, the club announced via the official channels. The former goalkeeper of FC Utrecht, Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur will support the goalkeeper coaches in the development of the goalkeepers of the first team and Jong FC Utrecht in the Dom City. Vorm – fifteen-time the Dutch international – put an end to his active career in 2020 and did not hold an official position in football in the meantime.

For the past two years, Vorm has been active as co-owner of barbershop Maesons and appeared several times as an analyst in the Ziggo Sport studio. Now Vorm is officially back at FC Utrecht, the club where he went through the youth academy and was under the bar until 2011. “Wherever Michel played after his departure from FC Utrecht, the bond between him and the club has always remained strong”, technical director Jordy Zuidam said on behalf of FC Utrecht.

“We have been in regular contact for years and Michel was now open to making his contribution to the development of the FC Utrecht goalkeepers’ guild in the coming period,” continues Zuidam. “He will focus in a supporting role on the development of the goalkeepers and convey to them the experience he has gained in his career. Michel knows better than anyone what it takes to perform at a top level and we are happy that we can now have his knowledge and skills at our disposal.”
