Latest update:

Michael van Praag said in an interview with Ajax Life try to reassure Ajax's supporters somewhat. The chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Amsterdam club states that the ideas of the suspended Alex Kroes did not end up in a drawer.

The magazine of the Ajax supporters' association states that it is concerned about the coming period, in which a lot has to be done in the technical field at Ajax. Van Praag reassures the supporters somewhat.

“Alex had already gone a long way in completing the technical part. I understand that supporters are concerned, but the work continues. Danny Blind and Louis van Gaal have very short lines of communication with the technical people.”

Who exactly are these technical people? “Marijn Beuker and Kelvin de Lang. They are working hard with an emphasis on scouting, transfers and training. Van Gaal and Blind are in contact with them almost every day.”

Van Praag also indicates where the priority lies for the Amsterdam club in dire straits. “A trainer. Alex was already working on that and it will continue. A trainer is really priority number one!”

John van 't Schip is currently at the helm of the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The sixty-year-old coach will retire after this season and a successor has still not been found. Graham Potter's name was mentioned in the corridors.

Finally, Van Praag says that Ajax fans do not have to worry about a lack of decisiveness in the coming transfer period. “We have a clear plan for this summer. Including procedures.”
