The old record was held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who paid tribute to the late Diego Maradona via a photo on Instagram on November 25. The Juventus attacker’s post was liked a total of 19.8 million times.
The number of likes the photo that Messi posted last week can of course increase further in the coming period. The photo in question shows how the now 34-year-old attacker of the Argentine national team proudly poses with the Copa América, the first prize that Messi managed to win with his country.
