Kylian Mbappé is not interested in participating with France in this summer’s Olympic Games. According to Le Parisien the Paris Saint-Germain forward wants to use the time he would normally spend on the Olympic football tournament to reflect on his future at club level. In addition, he wants to take extra rest after a grueling season, including the postponed European Championship. Rumors have been going on for some time about Mbappé, with a contract with PSG until mid-2022. Real Madrid in particular would be particularly interested in the 22-year-old top striker.

At the age of 22, Mbappé is still eligible for the Olympic team of France, as the age limit is currently 23 years. However, the star player of PSG does not like to travel to Tokyo, also because the striker will participate in the European Championship with the reigning world champion earlier this summer. Last year, Mbappé had set his sights on the Olympic Games, which, however, were postponed by a year due to the corona crisis. As a result, the attacker has changed his mind, it sounds. The football tournament in Tokyo will take place from July 21 to August 7, when preparations for the new season are in full swing.

The star player of PSG has according to Le Parisien interest in the 2024 Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris in three years’ time. Mbappé could then possibly be added to the French selection as a dispensation player. The attacker, linked to Real and among others, is currently preparing with France for the away game against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday evening as part of the qualifying cycle towards the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Mbappé had his goal total in the national team to seventeen on Sunday, but in the encounter with Kazakhstan (0-2 victory) he missed a penalty kick in the final phase.

In the meantime, the stories about a premature departure from PSG do not disappear into the background. Due to the contract that runs until 2022, there is a chance that he will be sold at the end of this season, in order to prevent the attacker from leaving with a transfer-free status a year later. Despite all the rumors, technical director Leonardo continues to hope for a new contract for Mbappé at the Parc des Princes, while there is also good hope that Neymar will link his future to the Champions League participant.
