Kylian Mbappé seems to be in his last months at the service of Paris Saint-Germain. Various Spanish media reported on Thursday afternoon that the French attacker has decided not to extend his current contract until mid-2022. The reporting is striking, as technical director Leonardo commented positively on Mbappé’s contract situation on Wednesday evening.

According to Cadena SER and Deportes Cuatro Mbappé has finally decided not to accept the offer from his current employer. PSG has been working behind the scenes for some time on a longer cooperation with the French international, but so far he has not signed and it is now expected that that will not happen again. If Mbappé does not actually renew, the French superpower will have to sell him next summer to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer in a year’s time.

The Spanish media are convinced that Mbappé has indicated to the club management that he wants to make a transfer. Mbappé wants to leave after this season and if it does not happen, he is aiming for a transfer-free transfer in the summer of 2022. With a door Transfer market estimated market value of 180 million euros, it seems unlikely that PSG will let him walk out the door without transfer. Real Madrid would be in pole position to take over Mbappé.

PSG director Leonardo spoke on Wednesday evening Sky Italia still positive about the contract situation of Mbappé and Neymar. “If we look at their contracts, I think we can be happy,” he said after the 2-3 victory over Bayern Munich in the quarter finals of the Champions League. “We will soon get more clarity about the situation regarding the Mbappé and Neymar contracts.” According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, PSG has already verbally agreed with Neymar on a contract until mid-2026 and a signing moment is being sought.
