Eric van Oosterhout posted a remarkable tweet about Ajax on Monday evening. The mayor of Emmen wished FC Emmen ‘double success’ against ‘that club from 020’, by which he meant Young Ajax in this case.
“We always wish FC Emmen good luck on match day, but double success against that club from 020,” said the mayor of the Drentse capital. ESPN commentator Leo Oldenburger is surprised by the tweet. “Seriously mayor? That club from 020?” asks the reporter, who has received no response.

Van Oosterhout’s wish for success did not help, because Young Ajax won 1-0 against FC Emmen at De Toekomst. That was thanks to Youri Regeer, who scored after the break from a cross by Naci Ünüvar. In the final phase, Jay Gorter kept the Amsterdam promises going with some nice saves.
