Matthijs de Ligt’s recovery seems to be going well. The defender, recovering from a groin injury, rejoined Frank de Boer’s selection on Tuesday and a day later he is fully participating in the the Dutch training again, according to images from Wednesday morning’s practice session. De Ligt had to miss Sunday’s exhibition game with Georgia (3-0 win) due to the injury.

The images show that De Ligt participates without visible problems during a party form in the training of the Dutch national team, which after the disappearance of Donny van de Beek still consists of 25 players on the way to the European Championship. He did train separately from the group in the second part of the practice session. The Juventus defender has four days left to fully recover. The the Dutch squad starts the European Championship on Sunday with the game against Ukraine in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The kick-off in Amsterdam is at 9 p.m.

De Ligt dropped out of group training on Saturday with apparent groin complaints. On Monday he trained individually with Van de Beek, who has therefore definitely dropped out for the European championship. De Ligt rejoined the group at the start of training on Tuesday. He lasted at least a quarter of an hour. Because the rest of the training was decided, it is not clear whether the Juventus defender remained with the selection after that.
