Martin Jol is approaching a deal with United Vansen to take over ADO Den Haag, writes Broadcaster West. According to the regional broadcaster, there is an outline agreement between the parties. Once the deal has been closed, only approval must be granted by the Dutch shareholders at ADO. In recent months, the Eredivisie relegator was in negotiations with the American World Soccer Holdings, but at the moment Jol seems to be the most important candidate.

The takeover by Jol is by no means complete yet. According to the articles of association, United Vansen must first contact the Dutch shareholders, and then proceed with the potential buyer. This step resulted in previous conversations with interested parties breaking down. Jol is currently working on the finishing touches with major shareholder Hui Wang. The 65-year-old Hagenaar was still active as a technical advisor in The Hague in the 2019/20 season and now hopes to be able to pull the strings himself.

Jol was recently mentioned in the rumor circuit, but nevertheless remained out of the spotlights. The former football player, who played for FC Den Haag for a total of nine years over two periods, does not negotiate alone and is assisted by Ben Mandemakers and Ed Maas, both of whom are also called ‘very wealthy’. Wang also wants to do business quickly and Broadcaster West takes into account that the deal will be finalized this week, if Dutch shareholders agree.
