Mark Diemers is well on his way to Hannover 96, his agent has announced to BILD. The midfielder is not in the plans of trainer Arne Slot at Feyenoord and moves to the 2. Bundesliga on a rental basis. The Germans have not negotiated an option to buy, so Diemers will return to Rotterdam in the summer. The midfielder has a contract until 2023.

Hanover’s interest in Diemers has been present for some time. The German club was relegated to the second tier of Germany two years ago and now even fears a drop to the third division. Diemers, who hardly gets to play at Feyenoord, must that Roten to take by the hand. Football International already reported on New Year’s Eve that the attacking midfielder had traveled to Germany to explore the club and have initial talks. Sparta Rotterdam was also briefly in the market for the midfielder, but they now seem to have to give up permanently.

According to Tim Vrouwe, director of Diemers’ consultancy Forza Sports Group, an agreement will be reached between Feyenoord and Hanover this week. “It’s about the last details,” the representative tells BILD. “I think we’ll solve that quickly and then Mark will move to Hanover. I don’t want to pin myself on a specific day, but I think it will come to an agreement this week.” There is a chance that Diemers will be able to make his unofficial debut next Friday, when Hannover takes on PEC Zwolle in an exhibition game.

Diemers was still considered a fixed value at Feyenoord under Dick Advocaat last season with 38 appearances, but has now lost his place in the team. He only played four times under Slot this season. In total, Diemers is on 42 duels for Feyenoord, in which he was good for 3 goals and 6 assists. This season he only made two appearances in the Eredivisie. The midfielder came to Feyenoord for 1.2 million euros last year, which took him over from Fortuna Sittard.
