PSV will travel to the south of France without Mario Götze on Wednesday for the duel with AS Monaco in the Europa League. The German attacking midfielder was missing against FC Twente last Saturday due to illness and appears not to have recovered in time. Davy Pröpper, Cody Gakpo, Noni Madueke and Ryan Thomas are missing from the match selection presented by the club on Wednesday morning.

A week and a half ago, Götze played eighty minutes in the 5-0 lost match against Ajax. He then missed the 5-2 win over Twente and in Monaco trainer Roger Schmidt will have to do it again without him. Gakpo and Madueke were already missing against Ajax due to injuries and are expected to be available again only after the coming international match.

Pröpper came in against Twente in the final phase, but has to drop the duel with Monaco. A windfall for the Eindhoven residents is the presence of Ritsu Doan. The Japan international has been missing in recent weeks due to an injury. He has been included in the competition selection by Schmidt and will travel with him to France. Against Monaco, PSV is supported by about nine hundred supporters.

PSV are currently third in Group B with four points from three matches. On October 21, the home match against AS Monaco was lost 1-2. The Monegasques lead the group with seven points. After the duel with Monaco, PSV still await group duels with Sturm Graz (home) and Real Sociedad (away). The match in the Stade Louis II starts on Thursday evening at 6.45 pm.
