Ronald Koeman has given Barcelona a shortlist of four desired reinforcements, he reports Mark. The transfer market will close in less than a month and the top-selling sports newspaper in Spain says the Dutchman wants a big share in Barcelona’s new project; he not only wants to give his approval, but also participate in the process. Koeman only wants players he knows or fully supports, or so it sounds.

Koeman’s shortlist according to Mark has a striking name: Stefan de Vrij. Barcelona have been working for months on the arrival of Eric Garcia, but Manchester City are not the easiest negotiating partner in this regard. The asking price is almost 25 million euros for the one year running contract of the talented defender and technical director Ramón Planes is apparently eager to wait another year, as was originally planned. The Barcelona-trained defender is also one of Koeman’s four wishes.

In any case, Koeman thinks that De Vrij is a more than excellent alternative, the newspaper writes. However, the arrival of the Orange International is even more difficult. Internazionale has been working behind the scenes for months to catch the defender longer and to offer better financial requirements. De Vrij is now on the payroll for 3.6 million euros, excluding bonuses. De Vrij was one of the better players of the Northern Italians last season and a departure in the final phase of the transfer market will undoubtedly be stopped.

A colleague of De Vrij’s Lautaro Martinez has been the target of Barcelona for months for the attack, but Inter are not happy with less than ninety million euros, which is hampering the arrival of Argentina. Koeman’s two other transfer wishes are no surprises: Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum. However, the midfielder now suddenly wants to serve out his contract with Liverpool and the question is whether Depay is another option now that Lionel Messi is staying at Camp Nou for another year.

Miralem Pjanic is the only reinforcement from Barcelona for the coming season, although Pedri and Trincao have been taken over at an earlier stage from Las Palmas and Sporting Braga respectively. Barcelona will get more rest from LaLiga due to their participation in the Champions League and will play their first league match against Villarreal on 26 or 27 September.
