MANCHESTER United’s volatile Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea has reason to worry about his status as the club of Old Trafford’s first choice in front of goal.

This follows after Ole Gunnar Solskjær (manager) decided not to make loan player Dean Henderson available to Sheffield United again.

Henderson signed a brand new, highly lucrative five-year contract with United this week.

He was also included in the England squad against Austria and Denmark for Uefa’s Nations Cup matches.

Boast

The 23-year-old goalie has been loaned out to Sheffield United for two seasons.

In the 2018-19 season, he helped the Blades secure promotion to the English Premier League.

In the 2019-20 season, he helped Sheffield United end the English Premier League season in ninth place by conceding just 33 goals in 36 games.

He also boasts 13 clean sheets (no goals conceded in a game) – the same as De Gea, who played two games more (38). De Gea conceded 36 goals for the season, with 3 of the goals errors he committed on defense.

Arrival

Manchester Evening News reports Henderson said: “The path I had to follow in my development was fantastic, with my loan spell at Sheffield United part of it.

“The goalkeeper division at United is excellent – there are three top quality goalkeepers who have already achieved a lot in the sport. I look forward to working with this group. ”

Henderson also said he was looking forward to his time with the England squad before rejoining Old Trafford to prepare for the English Premier League
