Manchester United will get a new shirt sponsor from next season. Software company TeamViewer takes over from Chevrolet after seven years, confirms the current number two in the Premier League. According to Sky Sports it is about the largest shirt sponsorship ever in the top division of England. Reportedly, TeamViewer will pay around 55 million euros annually.

Both parties have entered into a five-year agreement, in which Manchester United can therefore look forward to a total amount of approximately 275 million euros. Since 2014, the club has received around EUR 75 million annually from Chevrolet, but that sponsorship deal involved more than just a spot on the match shirt: the company also supplied the cars for the players, for example. The agreement with TeamViewer is the biggest ever for just one spot on the competition shirt.

Manchester United therefore still has to look for a new car supplier and also for a new sponsor for the training kits, as the agreement with Aon is about to expire. In any case, the club is happy with the deal with TeamViewer, the German company that is known for the software program that allows users to control each other’s computers remotely. TeamViewer is the sixth shirt sponsor in Manchester United club history after Sharp, Vodafone, AIG, Aon and Chevrolet.

“We are incredibly proud of this partnership with one of the most promising and dynamic software companies,” said Manchester United President Richard Arnold. “Connecting has never been more important to the world and to our community of 1.1 billion fans and followers. We look forward to partnering with TeamViewer.” TeamViewer director Oliver Steil states that ‘two successful global teams’ are joining forces. “Together, as Team United, we can take the fan experience in the Theater of Dreams to a new level.”
