Manchester United are not yet prepared to meet Bayern Munich's asking price for Matthijs de Ligt, reports Sky Germany-journalist Florian Plettenberg. The arrival of Lille OSC defender Leny Yoro has, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic now a priority for the English top club.

Earlier this month, Manchester Evening News to report that De Ligt has reached a personal agreement with Manchester United. The Red Devils then only had to agree with Bayern on the transfer fee to be paid.

For the time being, however, negotiations in that area are stalling. Bayern are reportedly asking for fifty million euros plus bonuses for De Ligt. Manchester United, however, are not prepared to put that sum on the table, which is why no final offer has yet been submitted to the club management of the Germans.

According to the usually well-informed journalist Ornstein, Manchester United are close to signing Yoro, another right-footed central defender who has long preferred a transfer to Real Madrid. The eighteen-year-old Lille defender is about to undergo a medical examination at the Mancunians.

Manchester United and Lille had previously agreed on a transfer fee of fifty million euros, plus 12 million in bonuses for the top talent. Yoro is likely to sign a contract at Old Trafford until mid-2029, plus the option for another season.

Yoro has a contract with Lille until the summer of 2025. Last season he was an undisputed regular in the team of the now departed coach Paulo Fonseca. The teenager played 44 official matches in all competitions.
