Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite are still on Manchester United's wish list, reports Manchester Evening NewsAfter the arrival of Leny Yoro from Lille OSC, the club would like to sign two more centre-backs.

Yoro is already the first centre-back to be signed by Manchester United. Negotiations between the Red Devils and Lille, which according to sources ESPN receive a maximum of seventy million euros, went quite smoothly.

That cannot be said of the negotiations between Manchester United and Everton, which saw two offers from the Mancunians before Branthwaite was thrown in the bin. Both the bid of a minimum of €41.5 million and a maximum of €51 million and the bid of a minimum of €53.5 million and a maximum of €59 million were rejected by Everton.

According to Manchester Evening News Everton are 'stunned' that Manchester United have now signed Yoro, who was on contract at Lille for just one year, for a possible €70m.

The fact that United have 'easily' put so much money on the table for Yoro, when such a sum was never offered at Everton, has been met with resentment by the Toffees.

Before Yoro was promoted to top priority number one, Manchester United was also busy with the arrival of De Ligt, in addition to Branthwaite. The club even reached a personal agreement with the Bayern Munich marker, who wants fifty million euros. That amount is too much for Man United and so the transfer was on hold placed.

Now that Yoro has arrived, Man United still wants to focus on the arrival of Branthwaite and De Ligt. It is questionable whether the club will reach an agreement with Bayern, where De Ligt still has a contract until mid-2027. The transfer of Branthwaite to Old Trafford is also not a foregone conclusion, especially now that Everton knows that Man United completed the transfer of Yoro relatively quickly.
