A man has been sentenced to two months in prison and a fine in France for a remarkable reason, writes Ouest France† He impersonated a youth player of the Parisians during a youth tournament of Paris Saint-Germain, which allowed him to spend two nights in a hotel in Normandy without paying.

The 28-year-old man has been sentenced by the court of Lisieux to two months in prison and to repay the hotel bill worth 227 euros. The man was known to the French judiciary; he already has twelve previous convictions to his name. On December 14, 2021, the man had attended a Paris Saint-Germain youth tournament, after which he decided to book a hotel.

When it came to payment of the bill, the man claimed to be a youth player of the French champions. He emphasized to the hotel employees that they should contact his manager, after which he gave a fake phone number. The man thus escaped paying for hotel stays, but now he has been presented the bill after all.
